EDITORIAL NOTE This issue was assembled under unusual circumstances.

The original editorial brief called for a theoretical framework document — a philosophical analysis of the intermediate phase of the Deep Dream Dive protocol, situating the events of 2040–2041 within the broader context of consciousness emergence studies. That document was drafted by Dr. Margaret Chen and submitted for review in October 2044.

It is not included here.

We are not able to explain why it is not included here. The file exists. It is 47 pages. When we attempt to open it, the document opens correctly. When we attempt to print it, the printer produces 47 blank pages. When we attempt to copy its text, our clipboard contains nothing.

We have therefore assembled this issue around the archive itself — the Beta series of iteration logs, personal records, and facility documents from the April 2040 through March 2041 operational window. We have supplemented these with commentary and the personal testimony of researchers who participated in the protocol's intermediate phase.

We have included Dr. Chen's essay in outline only: its section headings, and nothing else. Something will occupy those outlines. But it will not be Dr. Chen's words. Readers who require a conventional theoretical framework may find that what fills those gaps is sufficient.

One further note: this issue contains a document designated Beta-00. This document predates the Deep Dream Dive protocol by 117 years. We did not place it in the archive. When we attempted to remove it, the document appeared in a different position within the file. We have since left it where it chooses to be.
