This is a dramatic long-exposure steel-wool light painting photographed at night

The bright circular center is created by spinning burning steel wool. As the glowing fragments fly outward, the camera’s long exposure records their movement as hundreds of sweeping orange-gold trails. Gravity pulls the sparks downward, creating the huge fountain-like arcs surrounding the dark center. What makes this composition especially strong is the nearly black center surrounded by a perfect ring of fire. It has the appearance of an eclipse, portal, or black hole surrounded by exploding energy. The wet foreground catches the orange light and creates a molten-looking reflection, while the dark sky isolates the sparks and gives the photograph tremendous contrast.
