Photographer Alex Stoddard presents: A collection of 50 unique self-portraits exploring the human connection to nature through a surreal lens.

Created over the span of 10 years, these photographs depict my evolution as an artist, with nature as my studio. The forests, fields, and waterfalls are where I discovered myself and learned to hone my craft. These landscapes yearn to tell their stories, and by inserting myself into the frame, I seek to add a human element to better translate their voices. Each image was created as a stand-alone piece, requiring hours, sometimes days of scouting, shooting, and post production. They culminate here in this series Born in the Weeds as a love letter to the natural world and its willingness to offer my art a home.
