Proembrion (Polish, b. 1984), born Krzysztof Syruć, is an architect from Olsztyn who works across murals, painting and generative graphics rooted in mathematics.,,He describes his generative pixel patterns as an effort “to see mathematics in pure form”, shaped by an interest in parametric structures, biomorphism and biomimicry.
Syruć began painting in 1996 at the age of twelve, and his graffiti evolved through increasingly disciplined geometric systems before settling into a one-line, diagonal style.He studied architecture at the Technical University of Gdańsk and has painted murals in several Polish cities, including the largest mural in the Urban Forms gallery in Łódź.,In 2014 and 2015 he worked with the Warsaw studio Centrala on an installation for the exhibition “Oskar Hansen – Open Form”, organized by the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw. It traveled to the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto in 2014 and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) in Barcelona in 2015.,
Working under the name Proembrion, Syruć has released generative animations on the platform fxhash, made with the p5.js code library.,Blurring of Chromatic Alternation, released in March 2022, blurs and shifts the pixels of an input image according to values generated from the artwork's hash.Wide Curved Alternation, released the following month, applies a similar hash-driven process of blurring, shifting and bending, using a formula built from time variables and XOR operators that changes with every frame.
