Per Kristian Stoveland (Norwegian, b. 1978)is a generative artist based in Oslo who works in creative coding, producing art that ranges from tight geometric patterns to topographic flow fields built from colorful, meticulous structures.He is a graduate of the Oslo School of Graphic Design and co-founded the design studio Void in 2015, working at the intersection of art, architecture, design and technology.,
Stoveland taught himself to code in the design and advertising industries from the late 2000s onward, first through Flash animation.,,He turned toward generative art in 2021 after watching a friend's project launch on Art Blocks.His first generative art tokens, the Ciphers series of three sets of 128 editions, appeared on fx(hash) in 2021. That year he also released Skravert, 320 sketches built from rectangle subdivision, Colonies, generated from the Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion model on KnownOrigin, and Shores, a pixel-sorting study issued in four editions on Foundation.
In 2023 he released The Harvest on Art Blocks, an edition of 400 generative landscapes sold through a Dutch auction,depicting an entity called “the caretaker” sending its minions to harvest sustenance from distant worlds.The same year, he made Pursuit and Echo of Intensity for the Velocity Series, a collaboration curated by AOI for Oracle Red Bull Racing and Bybit.The works translate the geometry of race circuits into streaks of light against dark landscapes drawn from Norway's winters.In 2024 he returned to The Harvest's algorithm for Keepsakes, described on his site as “memorabilia from the Caretaker's yield”. The project comprises a long-form edition of 400 and a curated edition of 16 on Art Blocks Engine.
Outside his NFT practice, Void has produced permanent public installations in Oslo, including a light sculpture called Delta that reacts to pedestrian movement and an earlier work, C8 - Tesseract, built from more than 1,300 LEDs.
