Luciana Guerra (Argentine, b. 1977) is a visual artist who expands painting through its intersection with digital tools, virtual reality and augmented reality, working from a feminist and psychologically charged perspective.,Physical oil paintings and drawings are scanned, layered and reconstructed digitally with custom brushes that replicate the texture of impasto, then extended into three-dimensional virtual spaces collectors can inhabit.
Born in Rosario, Argentina, she holds a degree in Fine Arts from the National University of Rosario and studied further in workshops led by Eduardo Stupía and Fabián Marcaccio.Of her paintings, she has said, “In my painting I study possible behaviours and human conditions like madness, illness and death. I depict them as wonderful states or places, showing the beauty beyond any situation.”
The Benzodiazepine Series grew out of a period of sleep paralysis, when medication eased her insomnia but opened a period of lucid dreaming filled with chaotic, ever-shifting color landscapes. She rendered that universe in drawings and paintings combining collage, monotype and priming, treating the chaos not as disorder but as a new order.In the 2023 series Sin Jardín no hay Paraíso (Without Garden, There Is No Paradise) she reinterpreted paintings by Hieronymus Bosch by hand and digitally, without artificial intelligence, abstracting their forms, colors and symbols into a new visual narrative. As a woman artist, she has said she finds it meaningful to appropriate the work of painters from an era when women were denied access to formal art training, and to give it her own mark.
In October 2022 she appeared as a guest on Trevor Jones's Art Angels series on SuperRare, minting Over the rainbow live, which sold for 1 ETH.In 2023 she took part in “Crónicas Abstractas” at the Museo Castagnino in Rosario and showed at the Neal Digital Gallery in Beijing, and received an Honorable Mention at the 67th Manuel Belgrano National Salon. In 2024 her work appeared at Artcrush in Brussels and NFT.NYC, and she was selected for Hug's 100 Artists to Watch, a list juried by figures from institutions including MoMA, Christie's and The Shed.In 2025 she took part in Infinite Garden, the Ethereum Foundation's residency program held during Devconnect in Buenos Aires, and received the Fundación Andreani Award at the National Salon in the Palais de Glace.
