lleixa is the name under which Anna Fusté Lleixà, a generative artist from Barcelona, releases artwork that blends handmade watercolor and oil textures with code.,One profile described her as a generative-painter whose coded work eschews hard geometric edges for the analog splashes and unpredictability of paint.
After completing degrees in Multimedia Engineering and Audiovisual Communication in Barcelona, Fusté moved to London to work as the sole creative developer at Cinimod Studio, the practice of digital artist Dominic Harris, building interactive artworks and showing at fairs including Art Basel, Pad London, and The Salon NY.,She later earned a Master's degree in Media Arts and Sciences at the MIT Media Lab in Boston, and worked as a Creative Technologist at Google Creative Lab in the summer of 2017, building three augmented reality prototypes: Paper Cubes, Draw&Dance, and Invisible Highway.
Fusté began minting art as lleixa on Hic et Nunc on March 29, 2021, releasing a gif of Animated Fluid Painting whose editions sold out within hours and became the genesis of her Order of Magnitude series. Her process starts on paper with watercolor and oil, textures she later translates into JavaScript code sketches to create a dialogue between spontaneous manual strokes and more structured digital geometries. In several works viewers can manipulate the generative elements themselves, extending the paintings into an interactive medium.
She has painted portraits of women she considers inspiring, a series she began with a portrait of the generative art pioneer Vera Molnár, and names artists including Leonora Carrington, Georgia O'Keeffe, Louise Bourgeois, Joan Miró, and generative artist Manolo Gamboa Naón among her influences.
