Lauren Lee McCarthy and Casey Reas collaborated on Are you the perfect specimen?, a 2024 digital video work extending McCarthy's Saliva series of artworks about bodily autonomy and control. The piece was co-directed by Reas, with cinematography by their long-term collaborator Gabriel Noguez, and imagines a tongue-texting interface that slowly and rhythmically connects to the viewer.
