Damien Seguin is a computational designer and creative developer based in London working in generative and data-driven digital art.He builds his own tools, including Nodes, a node-based visual programming tool for the web, which he uses to produce long-form generative art editions released on the Tezos blockchain via the fxhash platform.,
In November 2021 he released Window on fxhash, an edition of 512 pieces exploring density and pattern through a grid of wobbly quadrilaterals filled according to seven hand-crafted color palettes.In February 2022 he followed it with Stendhal, a 256-edition data-art piece whose geometry is generated from sentences sampled from Stendhal's novel Le Rouge et le Noir and a sentiment analysis of their tone.
His installation work includes Mountain Lights, a light installation evoking the northern lights over snowy mountains with shooting stars controlled by participants, shown at Harpa Concert Hall for the Reykjavik Winter Lights Festival in 2019. For IBM's Technology Garden he built a realtime data visualization that turned Wimbledon tournament data into the shapes of an English garden. For the 2018 Digital Design Days in Milan he made Ominous, a commissioned WebGL piece built around a monolith. In 2016 he collaborated with Bruno Imbrizi on Billie Deer, a WebGL piece made for that year's Christmas Experiments.
